About the Library
Patrick Lynch Public Library in Poteau opened in its new location in September of 2013. Formerly known as Buckley Public Library, the Poteau branch has been a part of the Southeast Oklahoma Library System since 1967. Patrick Lynch Public Library has a community meeting room, three study rooms, a computer lab, and a Discovery Zone. The branch’s lobby area offers tables for reading and studying. The library is divided between the adult and children’s area. The children’s area has a huge reading tree with a bench surrounding the trunk that is a perfect spot for adults to read to their children. The adult and teen areas offer comfortable seating for leisure reading and/or studying. There are public access computers spread throughout the library and educational computers located in the children’s area. The library offers free 24/7 WIFI access and also houses the LeFlore County Genealogical Society.
